In response to the trends of the artificial intelligence era and national strategic needs, and to promote the application and development of artificial intelligence technology in the field of scientific research, on August 23, scholars and experts from Peking University, Beijing Institute of Scientific Intelligence, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wuhan University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, National Protein Science Center, iKKEMLab, Pengcheng Laboratory, Suzhou Laboratory, Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Zhejiang Lab, China National Scientific and Technical Information Center, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Beijing Baidu Netcom Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., China Mobile, Beijing DeepModeling Technologies Co., Ltd., BTR New Material Group Co., Ltd., BYD Battery Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Jindu Bio-medical Technology Co., Ltd., and 30 other institutions convened at Zhongguan Xin Yuan, Peking University, to initiate the establishment of the "Global Alliance for Scientific Intelligence Development".

"The Global Alliance for Scientific Intelligence Development" is committed to building a cross-industry, interdisciplinary, open and collaborative platform to promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and scientific research, advance the extensive application of artificial intelligence in multiple fields such as basic science, energy materials, and life health, and provide strong support for addressing major challenges facing humanity.

The main goal of the alliance is to leverage the research advantages of universities and research institutions as well as the industrialization application advantages of enterprises, fully utilize and integrate the advantages and resources of all members, promote the deep integration and application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of scientific research, gather key elements (computing power, algorithms, data, problems, talents, etc.), build a theoretical system and talent training system for scientific intelligence technology, create a toolchain and platform environment for scientific intelligence, facilitate the emergence of scientific research breakthroughs, accelerate enterprises to achieve meta-innovation, promote the popularization and application of scientific intelligence technology, and cultivate a global scientific intelligence industry ecosystem.
